Reflective Paper on Blogs and Rubric

The student must work toward becoming a reflective practitioner. The blog posts in this course are aggregated in a reflective paper. There are many areas that a student can choose to reflect; however only a few are focused in this rubric. These include: Self as a Professional, Content, Methods and Materials, Context of Teaching and Learning, Use of Assessment, and Student Diversity. These areas selected from the conceptual framework for reflection at Washburn University.

The report does not have a prescribed length so the writer should use the rubric to determine whether they have met all of the requirements. The paper is to use APA style from the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th ed. The paper should be typed on 8.5 x 11 letter paper and double spaced using 12 point Times Roman font.

This assignment requires that the student contribute a weekly blog post on a self-selected topic or issue. The paper is written in a single document and placed in the “Selected Blog Folder”. Title the document "Reflective Paper on Blogs - Name" for instructor review.  The final document is to be uploaded on TK20 by the due date.

This report is due on April 25, 2015.

The report will be evaluated using a rubric adapted from Washburn University which focuses on the reflective educator. The rubric identifies five elements: (1) Self as an Emerging, Developing and Maturing Professional; (2) Reflection as a Socially Interactive Process; (3) Reflection on Content; (4) Reflection on Methods and Materials; (5) Reflection as a Process of Change; and (6) Reflection on Student Diversity.

The assessment categorizes the element as to whether the expectation is met, met with weakness, or not met.
